Amy from Hastings, Minnesota shares a great link ...

As the program director of the Hastings Recreation Center here in Minnesota I just wanted to thank the Glenham Fire Department for putting together your Fire Safety Links for Kids page! For the next 6 weeks, our center will be hosting a special Summer Safety seminar. We want to include information on boating and water safety, hiking safety and fire safety - just to name a few. I'm compiling a reference guide for the attendees with the help of some student volunteers. You shared some great information on fire safety to check out, so my students requested I reach out and let you know! And as a thank you, my volunteer Amy asked me to send you this guide to 'Creating a Family Fire Escape Plan' that she found:

https://www.austinrealestate.com/creating-a-family-fire-escape-plan.php

Amy was very excited to share it with you! She didn't see it listed but thought it would be so useful for families! Can you add it to your page for her? (www.glenhamfire.com/content/kids/)

I know Amy would be delighted to help others stay safe! She's actually getting class credit for volunteering at our center, so I'd love to show her teacher as well! I meet with her on Thursday if you get a chance to add it by then! Let me know :)

Thanks again,
Mrs. Lisa E.

Special Safety Resource Links Thanks to our Boy Scouts!

Backstory 1:  Logan is a Boy Scout and is in the process of earning his Fire Safety badge!  According to his mom Lily, Logan is absolutely loving learning about fire safety and even thinks he might want to be a firefighter in the future.  His dad was actually a firefighter too so how cool is that?  Logan is developing an interest for this and the club leader always encourages the Scouts to find extra resources at home, so mom is glad Logan found something he's really passionate and excited about.

They found the fire prevention/safety sites on the Glenham Fire Dept Kids page to be really helpful!  Logan was adamant that they send a warm thank you so we are welcome for that.  He also was eager to share one of the fire safety resources that he and mom found together that we here at Glenham Fire are happy to share on our website for all to learn from as well.  Please take a few moments to access the link and the some of the other links within it. There are great fire safety resources for both kids and adults alike.  We've also taken some of the cool kids videos out aready and added them to our video collection below!

Good luck on that Fire Safety Badge Logan.  You've got this!

Backstory 2:  Susan is the mother to Liam.  He and his buddy Jack are boy scouts and they wanted to reach out to us because the Glenham Fire Department site has actually been super helpful for to them! They are currently in the process of earning their Fire Safety badge… and they loved our 4 Kids page as a resource.

The boys are really enjoying scouts together and are really taking an interest in learning about all things fire! They have been enjoying it so much that they actually spend a lot of time at home wanting to learn more.. they are always watching Youtube videos of firefighters! Susan says "it's super cool to see them have so much excitement about this smiley and as an invested parent, I want to be as supportive as I can with my son with everything he wants to do and learn."

She adds, "Together, we wanted to send you this thank you note! So thank you so much for all of your help. The boys wanted to share another fire and safety resource with you to express their excitement and gratitude (link below).

Well Liam and Jack, we here at the Glenham Fire Department wish you both the best in obtaining your Fire Safety Badges!  The best to you both in all you do.
