Imagine ...

It's a scary thought actually. Volunteerism in the volunteer fire service is steadily on the decline and there are a variety of factors behind that. The stats say that nationwide we're down to only about 65-70% volunteer firefighters. In New York State, 90+% of departments are still volunteer, but membership levels are a constant struggle. Our communities need for us is ever growing, but so is our need to have some of those in our community join our ranks and help us thrive to be able to continue to support our great friends and neighbors when they need us most.

Volunteer firefighters save this state over $4.7 Billion Dollars in increased taxes annually. More of note is that Local government property taxes would rise an average of 28.4% absent volunteer firefighters (taxes would increase between 5.8% and 133.8% depending on the county).

We're here for you Glenham! We're also here for all of the surrounding communities that need us when called as well. Please give some thought and consideration of what we provide for you (or if you want to think in dollars, "save" for you). While you're at it, think about giving us a try and join the ranks. You'll not only benefit the community, but you'll make new, lifelong friends and become part of a great family.
