On Saturday, July 8, 2023 the Slater Chemical Fire Company marched competitively in the annual DCVFA parade, hosted by the Millbrook Fire Department in Millbrook, NY. The Yankee Doodle Band provided our music and led us in the line of march. Our Fire Company was led under the leadership of Chief Steve Buchman. We had 28 men and women in our uniformed ranks for the event. Our 2001 American LaFrance Pumper/Rescue looked fantastic thanks to Captain Doug Zukowski and the members who worked along side of him to get it "parade ready." The weather cooperated and the day was spectacular, even if a little humid.

At trophy time, our band took home an award of Best Senior Band and the company was awarded Most Men in Line. Morale was high and we all had a great time in Millbrook. Thank you Millbrook Fire Department for inviting us to participate.
